PRESENTING / CHIEF COMPLAINTS:
A 33 year old, male patient presented with pain in the lower abdomen along with increased urinary frequency and urgency for the past 6–7 months.

CLINICAL FINDINGS:

  • Large vesical (urinary bladder) calculus.
  • Stone size: approximately 77 × 65 mm.
  • Associated cystitis changes on ultrasound.
  • Lower abdominal pain with urinary irritation symptoms.

DIAGNOSIS:
Large vesical calculus (Giant Bladder Stone).

TREATMENT PERFORMED:
A surgical approach was planned to safely remove the large bladder stone:
- Cystoscopy (CPE) + Open Cystolithotomy was performed under General Anesthesia.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CASE:

  • Very large vesical calculus (~77 × 65 mm).
  • Long-standing urinary symptoms (6–7 months).
  • Successful cystoscopy with open cystolithotomy.
  • 100% stone clearance achieved.
  • Safe recovery and stable discharge.

SPECIAL NOTE:
This case highlights the successful management of a very large bladder stone causing long-standing urinary symptoms. Through timely surgical intervention and precise stone removal, complete clearance of the vesical calculus was achieved, leading to relief from symptoms and prevention of further bladder complications and showcase Dr. Manoj Jain, Dr. Ajay Aggarwal and the entire OT Team's expertise in managing complex bladder stone disease.
