Dual Surgery For Breast Cancer & Suspicious Thyroid Nodule Successfully Performed At RG Hospitals, Rajouri Garden

A 65-year-old female, known diabetic and hypertensive, presented with pain and swelling in the left breast along with a palpable thyroid nodule.
Diagnosis:
Left Breast Carcinoma
Right Thyroid Nodule
Treatment Performed:
- Left Mastectomy
- Sentinel Node Biopsy (ICG + Blue Dye) – Frozen Positive - Axillary dissection done
- Left Axillary Dissection
- Right Hemithyroidectomy
Key Highlights:
- Dual surgery was completed in one operative session within a time frame of 2.5 hours
- Critical nerves and vessels are preserved during both breast and thyroid procedures
- Sentinel node biopsy guided by dual dye technique - ICG + METHYLENE BLUE
- Successful recovery with all specimens sent for HPE
Based on the HPE of the thyroid nodule, a complete thyroidectomy and modified neck dissection were done for this patient in the second sitting.
