Breast Conserving Surgery With Sentinel Node Biopsy Successfully Performed For Early-Stage Breast Cancer At RG Hospitals, Rajouri Garden

A 31-year-old female presented with a complaint of a lump in the right breast. Upon evaluation, she was diagnosed with Right Breast Carcinoma (Stage cT1N0M0).
Diagnosis:
Right Breast Carcinoma – cT1N0M0
Treatment Performed:
- Right Breast Conserving Surgery (BCS)
- Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy using Dual Dye (ICG + Methylene Blue)
- Intraoperative Frozen Section (Margins Free)
- Intraoperative Frozen section sentinel node - all nodes free from tumour
Key Highlights of the Case:
- Dual-dye guided sentinel lymph node biopsy using Indocyanine Green (ICG) and Methylene Blue
- Three sentinel nodes sampled – all negative on frozen section (0/3)
- Tumour resection performed with orientation marking; frozen section confirmed negative margins
- Clips are placed at the tumour bed base
- Closure performed in layers with good hemostasis
- No intraoperative complications noted, patient has an uneventful postoperative course.
