REPORTING TO           : MEDICAL DIRECTOR/ CEO

QUALIFICATION          : MS-MD/DNB

EXPERIENCE               : 1 YEAR & MORE

DUTY HOURS              : AS PER SCHEDULED REQUIREMENTS

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key areas of responsibility:

  1. To provide care to patients in the Operation Theatre and Critical Care Units, and to any other patients in the hospital who require acute medical intervention.
  2. To take ongoing responsibility for patients under his/her care.
  3. Must be familiar with NABH standards, protocols and documentation process.
  4. To provide a consultation service and advisory service to other clinical colleagues in other specialties within the Trust and primary care.
  5. To participate in the development of the anesthesia and critical care treatment protocols and guidelines.
  6. To be accountable for improving and complying with infection control practices.
  7. Preparing patients for surgery by explaining any risks or side effects/ pre anesthetic check up
  8. Giving anesthesia to patients.
  9. Observing and monitoring patients during surgery / post operative when necessary.
  10. Resuscitating and stabilizing patients in the emergency department as member of code blue team.
  11. To be available for emergency calls of the O.T. & the Emergency Department.
  12. To facilitate teaching and training programs of O.T. Nurses, Technicians & Resident Doctors.
  13. To be well groomed, punctual & adhere to company policies and practices, familiar with NABH Protocols.
  14. To comply with patient safety policy
  15. To ensure safe utilization of equipments and proper waste disposal system
  16. To be involved in quality Assurance / Quality control activities.
  17. To perform all the jobs as may be assigned due to exigencies of work.
  18. Participation in Continuous Quality Improvement.
