Job Description: Assistant Manager - Finance (Analytical Focus)
Key Responsibilities


1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis against budget and forecasts.
  • Analyze financial trends and performance indicators to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement areas.
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process with data-driven insights.

2. Management Reporting

  • Develop dashboards and analytical reports for management review.
  • Present financial results and insights to senior leadership in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial statements and internal reports.
  • Support in implementing tools like FAR, Tax compliance etc.

3. Accounting & Compliance Support

  • Assist in month-end and year-end closure activities including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.
  • Works on Vendor and debtor reconciliations
  • Works on 2A reconciliations
  • Well versed with TDS, PF, ESI, Professional Tax and GST compliances and can review the monthly deduction

4. Cost Control & Efficiency Improvements

  • Monitor operating expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support implementation of process improvements.
  • Evaluate financial workflows and recommend automation or optimization solutions.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with procurement, operations, HR, and other departments to gather data and support financial decisions.
  • Provide financial insights to business units for performance monitoring and project evaluations.

6. Risk Management

  • Assess financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support the development and review of internal controls and financial policies.

Required Skills & Competencies
Analytical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and convert insights into actionable
  • recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, dashboards); experience with BI tools (Power BI,Tableau) is a compulsion.


Technical & Financial Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and budgeting processes.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Tally, ZOHO, MS Dynamics, etc.) is beneficial.

Behavioral & Soft Skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
