Bariatric Surgery

In the first stage, the large intestine is removed which keeps a person filled for longer hours even after consuming a small amount of food. In this procedure, you’ll stay in hospital for 1 week to 10 days in the hospital and need to only have a soft and liquid diet. While, after the period of 35-40 days you can have a solid diet but that should be easy to digest.

Dietary Guidelines Post-Bariatric Surgery:

  • Consume small portions of meals.

  • Follow a low-calorie diet and avoid fried food and sweets.

  • Chew your food properly and take mini bites.

  • Avoid beverages containing high sugar and soda.

  • Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water and make sure you drink a glass of water 30 mins, prior to every meal.

  • Keep your calorie intake between 300-600 and try having a soft or liquid diet.

  • All the food should be caffeine-free.

  • Preserve tissues & muscles. Regain energy with high-protein food such as eggs, soy, tofu, yogurt, etc.

  • Avoid eating bread, rice, raw vegetable, fresh food, and meat which hard to chew.
